There is a broad, fiat or slightly concave selvage along the antero-lateral sides which is widest in front medially and decreases laterally to vanish at the greatest breadth. On the medial side of this selvage the parasphenoid shows a complementary depres- sion or groove, narrowest medially in front and widest behind at the lateral angle.
