He was hovuat Easton, Talbot County, Md., and isthe son of John W. Scott and AnnieMassey Scott. His grandfather, Judgf^ Scott, was the fiist Chief Justiceof the Supi-eme Court of the State of^Maryland. Mr. Scott entered the serviceof the Company twenty-seven years ago,as a messenger.
