It brought highest prices wherever sold this past spring for any and all markets â fresh, frozen, or processed. Originated at Beltsville, Md., and released in October, 1953 by the and the Va. Truck Exp. Station at Norfolk, Va. It has been thoroughly tested and found adaptable from the Carolinas to New York state and as far west as Arkansas. The plants are vigorous and very productive. Berries ripen about a week later than Blake- more, are large in size, color a vivid red, are glossy with tough skin and firm as Blakemore. The flavor is tart and good. Ideal for freezing. Our Plants of Pocahon- tas are Vims free. Prices page 47. CATSKILL :r ONE OF THE VERY GOOD MID-SEASON BERRIES. IT HAS PROVEN ITS RIGHT AS A LEADER OF MID-SEASON VARD3TD3S. A vigorous grower; somewhat frost resistant, extremely productive; berries very large and good quality. The Catskill is a product of the New York Experiment Sta- tion, being a cross between Marshall and Premier. It has proven up under test for the past many years and is now recognized as one of the best mid-season berries in cultiva- tion. The foliage is healthy in this latitude. It is a good plant maker and has proved to be extremely productive. The berries are as large as Big Joe and Chesapeake and of good quality although not rated quite up to Premier and Fairfax.
