The memorial to David Lloyd George, First Earl Dwyfor designed by Clough Williams Ellis

Earl David Lloyd George of Dwyfor grew up in the village of Llanystymdwy, although he was born in Manchester on 17 January 1863. Aged 12 (or there abouts) he scratched 'DLG' onto the bridge parapet. He became a solicitor, MP, Presdien of Board of Trade and Prime Minister. A colourful character, he led an exciting private life. Following his death, in March 1945, his final resting place is in a specially built grave by the banks of the Dwyfor.
