Áras an Uachtaráin is the official residence of the President of Ireland, located in Phoenix Park, Dublin. It is a magnificent Georgian mansion with a long and rich history. The building was originally built in the 1750s as the Vice-Regal Lodge, the residence of the British Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. In 1938, after Ireland gained independence, the building was renamed Áras an Uachtaráin and became the home of the President of Ireland.
