Never before in thehistory of flower shows has such a collec-tion been g^athered too^ether. Just west of this building, in its rear,are found the greenhouses. As a gen-eral thing, they are used only for thepropagation and forcing of plants and flowers, which are afterwardremoved into the exhibit rooms, or set out in the parterres in frontof the building, where are also the exhibits of a number of privateforests. The east front of the build-ing faces the lagoon, withbroad lawns between. Theselawns are intersected withflower-beds, where growingplants are changedwith the months, so that thedisplay is always York, Pennsylvania andNew Jersey share most ofthis space.
