The intrinsic value of the discovery lies in the fact that, according to Mr. Alexander, this represents the first finding of the immature stages of any species of the genus Cylindrotoma on the American continent, and it is hoped that the publication of this paper will stimulate other entomologists to search for these very interesting larvae.
