The Russian Orthodox church in Ninilchik, Alaska, USA
Ninilchik, on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula, was a lodging area used for hunting and fishing before the arrival of Europeans. In 1847 Russians from Kodiak Island moved to the area and Alaska was subsequently purchased by the United States in 1896. The Russian Orthodox Church was built in 1901 and still holds services for its members.
