The lawsuit brought by A. A. Elliott against J. W. Hewetson, for damage done the former's greenhouses through the water having backed up on his prop- erty, has just been settled by the court, disallowing Mr, Elliott any damages. The case of Dale Estate vs. McCauley (re Wm. Fendley property), although settled in the former's favor last spring, has been appealed, and is to be settled during the September sittings. Everyone is looking forward to the annual convention of the Canadian Hor- ticultural Society, which is to be held in Toronto, August 12 to 15. Now that the war is over, there should be no ex- cuse for florists not getting together and furthering their ends in a practical manner. George Urban, of Buffalo, was here with a party from Buffalo and Guelph recently, also J. M. Carey, of Detroit. William Schlatter and a party of friends from Springfield, Mass., passed through lately on their way to the Adiron- dacks. W. G. Peacock, of the Dale Es- tate, returned last week from a motor trip to the Adirondacks. W. G. P. Pine Bluff, Ark.—The Davis Floral Co. is to have a new $12,000 store in the near future. It will be the only one of its kind in the state, according to local architects. The Davis Floral Co. is conducted by Mrs. Lillian Mohler and her sister. Miss Elsie Loomis, and is one of the largest and best-equipped florists' establishments in the state. It was founded many years apo by Mrs. M. A. Davis, mother of Mrs
