H., pres-ident of the Swiss Mission from 1850to 1854, was born Feb. 21, 1824, inDaskieth, Midlothian Co., Scotland,the son of George and Elizabeth Sten-house. The SwissMission was opened in December, 1850,with Bro. Stenhouse as president. Heassisted John Taylor in the publica-tion of The Mormon, in New York,and came to Utah in September, wrote frequently for the DeseretNews, and later published The Tele-graph. Elder Stenhouse died in SanFrancisco, Calif., March 7, 1882, andwas buried at Lone Mountain. YOUNG, Levi Edgar, president ofthe Swiss Mission from 1902 to 1904.(See Bio. Ency., Vol. 3, p. 798.). Hewas baptized July 4, 1882, by his fa-ther, ordained a Seventy July 21,1899, by George Teasdale, who alsoset him apart on that date as a mis-sionary to Switzerland.
