Derelict Brynmawr Rubber Factory stairwell

This factory at Brynmawr South Wales was a revolutionary design very advanced for its time and built for Dunlop. It has now been demolished and houses built on the site. Many efforts were made to preserve it and have it listed which all failed. Very few photographs exist of this iconic building, these were taken just prior to the demolition. It is very important in the history of modernist factory design and involved Arup as the engineers with the Architect being The Architects Co-op from the Architectural association London.
