Ointment jar with lid, Middle Kingdom, Dynasty 12, ca. 1814–1805 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Asasif, Birabi, pit tomb CC 25, debris, Carnarvon/Carter excavations, 1910, Travertine (Egyptian alabaster), H. cm (3 1/4 in.); Diam. cm (2 3/16 in.), –2 are ointment jars that were found scattered at the bottom of a tomb shaft at Thebes. Nearby was a box belonging to a man named Kemeni. Kemeni's box has a drawer with spaces for eight small ointment jars, so it is assumed that the box and jars go together
