OCEAN (Nov. 7, 2016) Marine Corps Capt. Thomas Holman, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, pilots an MV-22 Osprey during a training mission originating from the deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
