Leipzig, the opera house is the venue for the opera and ballet divisions of the Leipzig Opera. The opera house is in the center of Leipzig on Augustusplatz. It was built between 1954 and 1960 according to a design by Kunz Nierade and Kurt Hemmerling and is built in the neoclassical style.
