A YOUTH named Aurelius was the son of wealthy parents inthe county of Chester, and, being of singular beauty, caused aflutter in all the feminine hearts in his neighbourhood; oneyoung lady, named Dorinda, even going so far as to write hima most unmaidenlike love letter, which, being dropped byaccident, was found by one of the young ladys lovers, who,taking counsel with three others, set upon Aurelius as he wasgoing through a wood. It is needless to say that he speedilyovercame them ; but his parents, fearing revenge, and wishingto remove him from the wiles of Dorinda, sent him to London,and bound him apprentice to a Turkey merchant on LondonBridge. Here the young gentleman, after some time, mustneeds fall in love with his masters daughter; but, unlike theusual course of events in such cases, his passion was notreciprocated, so in dudgeon he applied for, and obtained, themerchants leave for him to go to
