Theseclamps are automatically adjustable to any height or widthof standard railway car and are placed so that they willengage cars of various lengths. They are arranged symmet-rically each side of the center line and may be operatedindependently of each other. Each clamp consists of asteel beam hinged to a sliding casting on the dumping sideof the cradle. The opposite end of the beam is suspendedin operating cables attached to the counterweights.
