Gruinard Island, Wester Ross, Northern Scotland, shot from the air, summer 2006

Gruinard Island a couple of miles off the mainland, was used by the Ministry of Defence, in the 1940's, to test Anthrax as a biological weapon. It was forbidden to land there until it was cleaned,in the late 1990's, so people once again go there. Not many local people do!
