He has succeeded in this manner in locatingsmall ulcers on the posterior wall of the stomach. The simple ulcer is themost difficult to demonstrate, and is frequently missed altogether. Theflorid or indurated ulcer, either with or without erosion, is also very difficultto recognise, as are also ulcers situated in the pyloric canal or in the neigh-bourhood.
