Wadj (papyrus stalk) from string of amulets, Third Intermediate Period, Dynasty 21, ca. 1070–945 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Deir el-Bahri, Tomb, Chamber B, Burial of Djedmutesankh (5), 1923–24, Carnelian, H. × W. cm ( × cm), Nine amulets of various materials were found threaded together in a tight group around the throat of the Lady Djedmutesankh; two of these, of green glass, disintegrated after they were discovered. This is a wadj, or papyrus stalk
