An Illyrian helmet, 6th century BC. Bronze with light green patina. Tall, large skull with two raised parallel ridges for the crest and attachment holes at front and back. Large face-opening surmounted by a narrow rib across the brow. Long pierced cheek-pieces and beautifully flared neck-guard. A row of lenticular decorative pins around the perimeter. Replacements and restorations at the crown and around the edges. Height 24 cm, weight 857 g.
