Mayan Effigy Censer


Terminal Classic - Early Post classic Period AD 900 -1200 BC This ceramic effigy vessel was discovered at a site north of Cahal Pech, Belize. Sometimes referred to as "Lacandon type" censers or "God pots", the vessels were used for burning copal incense during important rituals.
