Lesser Flamingo (Phoenicopterus minor ) at Lake Bogoria’s geyser and hot springs that lies in a volcanic region south of Lake Baringo. This saline, alkaline lake is highly productive with abundant cynobacteria (Arthrospira fusiformis) that attracts large numbers of flamingoes sometimes 1 million at a time. Lake Bogoria also contains the highest concentration of true geysers in Africa. Generally all geyser field sites are located near active volcanic areas.
