Young settled whena young man in Stafford county. andwhile living there occupied a leading positionamong its men of influence, for several yearsserving as countv commissioner. Migrating withhis family to California in 1887, he was heresuccessfully employed in agricultural pursuitsfor about ten years. Since 1897 he has been aresident of Los Angeles, where he is now living,retired from active business. In politics he is a stanch supporter of theprinciples of the Republican party. He marriedLizzie Brown, a native of England, and tenchildren were born of their union. Fourteen years of age when he came with hisparents to San Diego county, William W. Youngcompleted his education in the public schools ofEscondido, and as a farmers son was welltrained in the many branches of for his life work the independent oc-cupation to which he was reared, he worked forMr. Wohlford for five years, obtaining practicalexperience in general farming. Subsequently hewas employed for a short time in a fruit packinghouse, after which, in 1904, he accepted hispresent position as manager of W. L. Powersfruit ranch, which is devoted to the raising ofcitrus fruits. It c
