Mt Oyama,Isehara,Kanagawa,Japan. From ancient era,Mt Oyama had been worshiped by many people. People have been made pilgrimage to Mt Oyama constantly. In Kamakura era(1185-1333) Yoritomo Minamoto dedicated a sword to Oyama Afuri Jinja shrine in Mt Oyama to hope winning of battles. A few hundreds years later,in Edo era(1601-1867) ,people began to dedicate wooden swords to Afuri Jinja shrine with their hopes. This tradition had been suspended for a long time. But in 2010,people restarted this tradition. It's called "Mt Oyama Osamedachi walk" means "Mt Oyama sword dedication walking". Recently,Mt Oyama is very popular to climb. Here is easy to come from Tokyo. It takes only about 90 minutes by train and bus. So many people visit to enjoy climbing and beautiful nature and history. There are many shops in entrance of climbing road. Mt Oyama is famous for Spinning Top,called "Oyama Koma". And "Oyama Tofu" is also famous.(Tofu is soy beans curd). Oyama Tofu is made from beautiful water. So,here is sacred,beautiful,cultural,historical,natural place to visit.
