An Order's Cross 4th Class with Swords of the Order of St. Vladimir This exemplar in gold, made in circa 1860, is one of the famous "Black Series" of the Russian orders system. Probably due to a fashion trend of the time, these decorations were commissioned by private order and produced completely in black instead of red enamel. The cross arms are perfectly flatly polished in the highest enamel work traditions of the period, and are especially desirable because of the fine linear gold décor and edging.
