Looking W across Hexham's town square to the Augustinian priory chuch of St Andrew. In 1113 a priory of Canons Regular of St Augustine replaced the Saxon monastery founded by St Wilfrid around 674. The central tower, transepts & chancel are Medieval, the nave was rebuilt 1905-08 on the C13th layout.
