Do you know that thepreservation or achievement of a round, slender waistwill be your reward if you will strengthen your musclesand learn to keep your chest up ? It will certainly,except as you become hopelessly fat, and even thengood breathing will do much to preserve some goodoutlines in your figure. Proper breathing and thehabit of keeping the chest up will keep all the inter-nal organs in their proper place and keep them fromspreading the waist in any way that is unsightly,. The habit of dressing too warmly within doors in thewinter season is earnestly deprecated by temperature of modern houses and offices is usuallyabout 70 deg., which is summer heat. Yet both sexesselect thick flannels and heavy dresses and coats forhouse wear and then go out into an atmosphere manydegrees colder, with little additional protection, es-pecially for the feet. Walk across the floor three times, holding upyour chest (just as you do when you try to fasten atight skirtband), at the same time breathing deeplyfrom the abdomen. After the three times you are ex-hausted ; rest and try it again; to-morrow you canperhaps do it four ; dont tire yourself, but keep at ittill you have strengthened the muscles that hold yourchest up just as you would
