The local thickening of the skull produced through tumorsof the dura will be discussed later. Albers-Schonberg was the first who succeeded in making adiagnosis of the existence of a brain tumor from the erosion ofthe vault. We also had occasion several times to make outcircumscribed changes in the skull wall in consequence of braintumor, as, for instance, in the following case: There was found a palpable bulging of the left temporalregion in a man thirty-two years old. The roentgenogramshowed that the skull wall was thinned and bulged out at thisplace like a watch crystal. (See Figs. 84 and 85.) A circumscribed thinning of the skull wall through erosionof the inner surface, caused by a meningeal cyst in the parietalregion, is found described in the sectio
