The entrance to El Santuario de Chimayo, an adobe built Roman Catholic church in Chimayo, New Mexico. The church is built over the spot where, it is said, a local farmer dug up a glowing crucifix. Today pilgrims can visit the spot and take some of the "holy soil" from a small pit. The soil needs to be replenished daily as the site receives nearly 300 000 pilgrims a year during Holy Week.
