Originated in Iowa and presumably a seedling of Lombard. Fruit of good size, roundish ; color dark blue with a high bloom. Tree a strong grower and very hardy ; foliage ricb and healthy ; an early and very profuse bearer. Turkish Prune. Origin unknown, but probably identical with the Jerusalem Prune. Fruit large, long, egg-shaped ; skin dark purple, covered with a dense blue bloom ; flesh firm, rich, brisk ; parts freely from the stone ; ripens in September. Tree hardy, healthy, upright and productive. September.
