My health, the condition of my heart, will not allow me to lug any heavy loads in the future, and an 8x10 view-camera, with tripod, plate holders and plates makes quite a lug. After such a camera is once on the spot, it is decidedly superior for the making of superb photos, but 1 must be content with something a little smaller and lighter—possi- bly to use films instead of glass plates. To one who is to do most of his work at or near home, or who is strong and rugged and able to carry the camera if necessary, nothing is better than a camera like mine. I have had it several years, but have always used it with care, and it would be almost impossible to distinguish it from an instru- ment right from the shop. It is the Empire State, made by the Rochester Optical Co., of Rochester, N. Y.
