Millie and Christine, the negro sistersborn in Columbus Co., North Carolina, in 1851, were observed and reported byman\ different authoiS, and are said. to have lived to be twenty-threeyeai-s of age. The Jones twins, who were bornin Tipton Co., Indiana, on June 24th,1889, and who died on Feb. 20th, 1891(Fig. 10). represent another type ofsymmetrical development. In thistype the umbilicus is single, the an-terior body surface presents no dis-tinct division, and the lower ex-tremities are undeveloped and lie atthe side. Fig. 11 represents thepehis of a similar case, reported byLevey. An example of bigerminal de-formity of the parasitic type is seenin the case of Joan Baptista dosSantos, who was bom on Sept. 5th,1845. This case was reported byActon in 1846, and a picture of themonstrosity (at the age of twentyyears) was first published in AhlfeldsAtlas. A complete lower extremity, containing two joined thigh bones andprovided with a double foot, was attached to the body in the coccygeal region.(Fig. 12.) There were two well-formed, functionating penes, each Tvdth itsurethra: the scrotum was single. Congenital Sacro-Coccygeal Tumors and C
