Celtic pot reconstruction. Archaeologist reconstr- ucting a bronze Celtic pot excavated from a grave at Glauberg near Frankfurt in Germany. The pot was crushed when the grave collapsed. The grave also held a statue of the druid nobleman who lay in it, along with gold offerings including an intricately crafted necklace. The gold items have shown that the Celts were better goldsmiths than their Roman contemporaries. The buried man has been named the Glauberg Giant due to his great height. The Celts dominated western and central Europe during the first millennium Photographed in the Glauberg excavation laboratories at the State Department of Archaeology in Wiesbaden, Germany.
