Local anaesthetic before vasectomy. Patient's scrotum being injected with local anaesthetic prior to vasectomy, or male sterilisation surgery. During surgery the two vas deferentia that carry sperm from the testes to the penis are cut and tied, or sealed. This stops sperm from being ejected at ejaculation, providing a method of contraception that is nearly 100% efficient.
