Brain aneurysm. Coloured 3D angiogram of the head of a 38-year-old patient with an aneurysm (ballooning, centre) of the cerebral artery where it meets the posterior communicating artery. The right internal carotid artery can also be seen (lower right). This patient suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and this aneurysm was found during subsequent assessment of the brain. SAH is bleeding into the subarachnoid space - the area between the arachnoid membrane and the pia mater surrounding the brain.
