Pole position was Denny Hulme,, with Bruce McLaren 2nd (both driving a McLaren M6A Chevrolet), followed by Jim Hall's Chaparral 2E and Mark Donohue's Lola T70 Mk 3B. The race was won by Hulme, with McLaren finishing 2nd.
