Florists will do well to inform themselves now as to the best kinds for their use. Michael Fink and J. "Walsh, of the Chicago Flower Growers' Association, had their watches stolen on July 29, shortly after they returned from luncheon, and so far no clew to the thief has been found. A. T. Pyfer, of the Chicago Carna- tion Co., reports a good demand for field-grown carnation plants and each day's mail brings in many additional orders. E. E. Pieser, with Kennicott Bros. Co., and Mrs. Pieser left August 2 for a visit with friends and relatives. D. E. Freres finds business very good in his new home and is well pleased with his present location. At Geo. Reinberg's store everything is moving along nicely and a fine grade of roses is now arriving. The Batavia Greenhouse Co. is still strong on gladioli, which it is cutting from its own fields. Herman Schiller and wife have re- turned from a delightful outing in Michigan. John Kruchten is receiving a good supply of roses and all other stock In season. Visitors: Geo. M. Geraghty of Dun- lop's, Toronto, Can.; F. W. Scharten- berg, with the Tulsa Greenhouses, Tulsa, Okla. Cincinnati. TRADE GOOD FOR SEASON. The good market of the past month seems likely to continue well into August. Because of the large offer- ings and only the ordinary demand, prices are at the best but fair.
