The hotel faces the east,is fronted by a tree-covered lawn, through whicha plank walk leads down to the steamboat dock,and a road runs through the fields to the depota little to the north, over which a free carriageconveys guests to and from all trains. The houseis open day and night; the principal business isthe dinners, which are first-class, and partaken of byhungry travelers while waiting for the boats ; and,altogether, it is a very enjoyable place, unless itrains, in which case (to use a strong word, a
