Peking Zoological Garden (zoo, Beijing, China) zoological garden on the western outskirts of Peking, founded in 1906 by the empress dowager Tz’u-hsi . The zoo is managed by the Peking Office of Parks and Forestry, financed with government funds, and noted for its collection of rare Asian species.
