SENSIBILITY TO LOCALITY ON THE PALMAR SUR-FACE OF THE WRIST. The capacity of distinguishing points on thebody by the sense of touch is called the senseof locality. The palmar surface of the wrist was the part of the bodychosen, owing to its convenience for making the experiment. Thesense of locality ou the skinvaries in acuteness accord-ing to the mobility of thepart, increasing in the ex-tremities toward the fingersand toes. The instrument used indetermining the least sen-sibility to locality is thesesthesiometer (fig. 5). The two points, as seen in the figure, were drawn 15 millimetersapart.
