Original Danish pastry of laminated yeast-leavened dough - flaky and delicate crust and a mug of coffee on a café table.
These pastries get the name from where they derive from. In Denmark the Danish pastries are called wienerbrød (bread from Vienna) - in Germany they are called Kopenhagener Gebäck, bread and cakes from Copenhagen, but the rest of the world probably know these as Danish pastries - or even danish pastries, or danish, as many probably don't connect the name to Denmark any longer. the pastries are made of laminated yeast-leavened doughs, creating a layered texture similar to a puff pastry.
