March Of the Penguins, Salisbury Plain, South Georgia, Sub-Antarctic Island


South Georgia, a protected nature reserve, teems with wildlife, it has no permanent inhabitants. Landing on the shores of Salisbury Plain, Bay of Isles, a sight of 15,000 pairs of King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) awaits you. There are 27, 000 pairs in the Bay of Isles which is one of the largest colonies. Through the day Penguins march back and forth to and from the colony.
