Glowworm beetle. Macrophotograph of a male glowworm beetle (Phengodes sp.). Glowworm beetle females and larvae have bioluminescent organs, and prey on arthropods in litter and soil. The winged males do not feed, are short-lived, and are often attracted to lights at night.
