Apstein (1906, a) says the form of the body is a short oval. It is rather flat and has a very thick test. No mention is made of any. Body muscles I, II, and III are either fused dorsally (fig. 136, Dober) or approximated (fig. 139, Apstein). Body muscle IV, accord- ing to Apstein, is branched as in the subspecies bicristata. Dober shows the posterior branch interrupted.
