A hunting cutlery set, Saxony, circa 1650 A Waidpraxe (hunting cutlass). A heavy chopping blade with a fuller on one side. There is a silver plate inlaid on the obverse side, and markings (crossed swords) stamped into the reverse side. Chiselled and engraved quillons with a guard ring on one side. Staghorn grip scales, with five silver rivet heads bearing the Saxon coat of arms on the obverse side. Leather covered wooden scabbard with inserted cutlery set consisting of a knife, fork, and awl/sharpening steel. Lightly engraved iron scroll trim with the open work,
