Southport Yellow Globe 114 The first strain of Yellow Globe Onion developed in this country was named after the town of Southport, Connecticut where it originated. Used for storage and shipping. Bulbs round with slight elongation, medium size, solid, rich yellow, skins tough and clinging. Flesh white with creamy tone. YELLOW BERMUDA 92 to 94 A very early, medium sized, flat sort, used for earl}- market; some- times called White Bermuda. Skin light straw color, thin and loose; flesh nearly white, coarse, sweet and mild. The dual name arises from lack of positive color. Grown extensively in Texas and southern California for shipping; also grown for seed in California. Yellow Flat Danvers 96 to 98 A very hardy sort for home garden, also widely used for sets, and for storage. Bulbs medium sized, thick-flat; bright yellow.
