PENSACOLA, Fla. (June 8, 2017) Retired Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician (Technical) Greg Welch shares his memory of the attack on the USS Liberty (AGTR 5) during an observance ceremony for the 50th anniversary of the event. Liberty, a technical research ship, came under fire from Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats on June 8, 1967 while conducting operations in international waters.
