On "Wednesday evening, March 3, the florists and gardeners met at the Exhibition hall to formulate plans for the Florists' and Gardeners' Club, sixty being present. Twenty-three names were enrolled and a committee composed of J. W. Eodgers, Horace Frank, George W. Bartholomew, E. E. Schafer, M. L, Vogel, Elmer Brame, L. D. Polk and Mrs. L. D. Johnson was appointed to draft new by-laws. This committee will meet March 10. For thirty days an initiation fee of $1 will be charged for membership. An effort will be made to enlist the support of seed and implement dealers and others interested in gardening. G. W. B. Wilmette, 111.—Pyfer & Olsem issue mileage coupons, giving "a mile in travel for a dollar in trade," at their retail store in the Village theater building. Flushing, N. Y.—August Millang, who has conducted the store at 1 Jamaica avenue for the last two years, has sold the business to S. Frick, of Brooklyn, who has heretofore been in Mr. Mil- lang's employ. Mr. Prick will take over the business this month. Mr. Millang said he felt constrained to relinquish the local store because of his Brooklyn business and the fact that he intends opening a branch store in Jamaica this week.
