Ancient man-made channel to Loch na h-Airde, Rubha an Dunain headland, Glenbrittle, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK
Glenbrittle, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK. Believed to be the location of an ancient Viking harbour, quay and shipbuilding site dating from the 12th century. The channel from the small inland loch is man-made and provides a link to the sea at high tide. The loch would provide a sheltered mooring for small boats and ships. The remains of the old hill fort and a chambered cairn are also nearby.
