Kumbuka, the impressive male silverback in ZSL London Zoos group of critically endangered Western-lowland gorillas dies, 25th October here, exactly a year ago, 25th October 2018. He fathered a baby girl, Alika, his first offspring with mate Mjukuu in 2014 and a male, Gernot, with female, Effie, in 2015 Kumbuka died just a few weeks before his 22nd birthday.
